HCG may cross-react in the radioimmunoassay of gonadotropins, especially luteinizing hormone. Each laboratory should establish the degree of cross-reactivity with the assay of gonadotrophin. Physicians should be aware laboratory patients gonadotropin levels HCG if requested.

· There have been sporadic reports of testicular tumors in healthy young men who received hCG for secondary infertility.
