FILM REVIEW—THE RED TURTLE

The Red Turtle was nothing short of a stunning watch with top-notch animation from Studio Ghibli and beautiful direction. The plot is a heartfelt tale of a marooned man and his encounter with a mystical red turtle and their journey together (anything more said would probably ruin it). Despite not a single word being uttered throughout the whole film, the incredible soundtrack and the mesmerising artwork does brilliantly to convey emotion through its use of colour and score. With no dialogue, The Red Turtle is an art film but an engaging one for all to enjoy regardless of age and language.

Considering its run-time of just 1 hour and 20 minutes, I would say it’s definitely worth a watch — ★★★★☆
