WHAT HAPPENS 2 THE FRESHERS ?

JOURNEY TO the IT CITIES OF INDIA ….for the freshers:-

Engineers, please do not work for BPOs. It’s better to work in a marketing company rather. It will teach you lots of things. But then , why to work for marketing also. Alas…. between 2010–2013 , India is producing 25 % of Engineers with skills who are readily available to work in an IT companies, meanwhile 15 % of this 25% are at back office jobs. Out of the rest 75%, 30 % are working in BPO , What rest are doing will tell u some time else. Lets Rock and Roll ….

Present Scenario:-

When I look at the number of colleges and institutes in Jharkhand( who are offering technical degrees in the field Information and technology ) , the number is staggering. Nevertheless, there are more than 100 institutes who are offering technical courses and more than 7000 students who are having the priviledges to learn these courses across Jharkhand. But the irony is that when we the 7000 thousand students go to Bangalore, Pune, Delhi or any other places in search of our dream jobs, which again is very sad( due to lack of enough opportunities here) , our dreams more often turn into nightmares. We are left dumbstruck when we see the market requirements or more precisely, the companies’ requirements. “Main to ye padha tha, par yahan to kuch aur pooch raha hai… main to sql padha tha yahan to My Sql pooch raha hai…..Mera to 72 percent hai fir bhi nai ho raha hai…. interview mein nai ho raha hai…. engineering complete kar liye par LinkedIn kya hai ye nai pata hai….. College thag liya yaar, institute thag liya yaar”. These are the frequent questions that often come to the thoughts of the students when they land to the world of real competition because there, the dreams which these 7000 students dreamed off are shared by more than 1 lakh engineers everyday. So my friends the competition is very very tough.

What Happens then (in most of the cases):-

After reading this we all will be able to link to the messages that we shared in our previous blogs.

There is always an immense pressure of getting the first break . We all need first break , irrespective of the things we do. First break is always searched very aggressively and impatiently mostly by the freshers. After spending few days or say months while preparing, waiting for the interviews, and going through a series of unsuccessful interviews, the minds of freshers begin to deviate , the patience begins to crumble, nervousness strikes. And the track is changed. The train get derails . Then what happens most commonly is that we decide not to go back home and preapre well enough because we are just afraid of the parents, the society. As if going back is like some kind of taboo or stigma. Fear of failure is the worst thing to happen( Next Blog will be on this). And then we say like a true soldier of course that “ Kuch bhi ho jaaye, we will not go back”. So the door of alternatives open up for the freshers. The most common and the most easy alternative in these IT cities are enrolling in an IT training Institute or joining the BPO.

What we do then that shouldn't be done and why?

It’s not bad to join an IT training Institute to learn the things, but then why not to join the same back home because in doing so, you will be saving lots of your parents money as well as you will be getting healthy foods(most important aspect of survival and keeping oneself energetic). Added to that you will be staying away from many of the common distractions. My point is that same thing you can learn here, at your home. There is no need to go to places like Bangalore or Pune just to learn these things. Taking this wise decisions will help you in saving your energy, it will help in reducing your frustration level as well cz friends believe me the life becomes hell out there if you do not find a place to feed your dream very soon. This is the time when “Hadbadi mein Gadbi” ho jaata hai. (Refer I BLOG-2 Give some time).

Joining A BPO:- not a good option and have never been for us.

For me to join any BPO after doing engineering is the worst degradation of engineering skills and potential that can happen to the engineers ever. And this is happening at a tremendous rate. According to a survey result 30 percent of the freshers are joining BPOs. And 30 percent out of 5,50000 engineers passing out every year is a huge number of course. Why this continental drift is happening. Let me show you all:-

  1. Again I would like to start from lack of IT skills( Refer I BLOG-1,Learn to apply IT skills).
  2. Lack of patience( Refer I BLOG-2,Give Some time”Hadbadi mein Gadbadi”.)
  3. Easy and quick money.( Due to undue pressure and all).
  4. Fear of failure or fear of what others will say.
  5. Let’s do it for some time, then will switch to the core companies when get selected.
  6. And the most important of them is not meeting the market requirement needs . (Due to fierce competition , the companies now a days look for the candidates who are equipped with the latest technologies and trends, cz it saves the companies’ time as well as their resources).

So we can see that all these points relate directly to our previous blogs. The point is that all these messgaes are interlinked with each other. So coming back to the BPOs, Working in BPO will make you addictive of the environment that it offers. Even if there will be very limited opportunities to grow simply due to it’s work model, You will find it very viable option as you will be getting salary(it will not be more than 6oo0 to 8000k most of the times), weekly parties and a very airy environment as well. The glass doors and the marble floorings will give u a feeling of splendour for sure. But surely and slowly you will begin to loose you enginnering mind and the whatever skills that you learned. It would be a total waste of your 4 years of engineering life. If BPO was our last destination at any point of time , then there was no use in doing engineering and all and wasting so much of our parent’s resources. Even a 12th pass can go and join and earn more than we would earn in a BPO, just because it has been his only aim throughout his career. BPOs are surely increasing the employment opportunities in India , they certainly are contributing largely in India’s growth rate per year. But surely it is not made for engineers. Because we engineers are here to create services and the BPO is there to outsource those services or to sell those. So a creator should always be the creator. Why to demote ourselves?Have some patience na and choose a right track and give a honest effort, once and for all.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE:-

It’s been a well known idiom that prevention is better than cure. Yes it is always better any time. Why not to prepare first and then go to these places for jobs and all. Why not to master ourselves at one or two area of IT syllabus and then go to these dreamland(so called dreamland). Instead of going to Bangalore or any other cities just by listening to others, that wahan bahut job hai….wahan 1 lakh openings hai….. All rubbish. Just ask us or any of your friends or seniors who are there or have been to there. Instead of wasting your time and money by joining an institute in IT cities, first try to learn these things at your home only. I mean to say that get yourself equipped first then go for the job search. Life outside your college or home is very demanding and different and professional. Learn to meet these demands here only by investing smartly. One of my colleague said once that “we the students must invest, but not spend”. And she was brilliant in what she said. We must not spend after doing engineering, we should act smartly and should try to invest properly and carefully to learn the things if needed to.

So the mistakes that I and others have done must not be repeated by the generation of engineers to come. There was no one to guide us and say these things. There were none to enlighten us on these issues those we were about to face. But now, we will be taking care of the fact that whoever comes to us or to whom we go, these mistakes will surely not be repeated . There would be proper guidance, IT training and placement assistance at our institute. It is our responsibility to give something good back to the society from where we have taken and learnt so many things. This is also one of our purpose we are here( I BLOG-3, CodersFactory , why we are here and not in IT parks).

KEEP READING AND KEEP SPREADING(referring) THESE MESSAGES. THEY WILL DEFINITELY CHANGE SOMEONE’S LIFE. EVEN IF A SINGLE LIFE IS CHANGED, IT WILL BE A BLESSING FOR ALL OF US. At LAST, WE ARE ENGINEERS , ANY THING WE DO IT SHOULD BE DONE DIFFERENTLY.
