Abhishek Bacchan(AB) is coming up with a new film after a long time called Manmarziya, directed by Anurag Kashyap. This movie has really good vibe going on being it the first love story genre film directed by Anurag Kashyap.

Watching some of the promotional interviews given by star cast Tapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and AB, I am starting to like the maturity in AB. He has this presence of mind and making a sense of all the answers even if it is related very small things during the film shoot.

Bollywood Hungama host asked him why he took a sabbatical after hits like Bol Bacchan, HNY, Houseful 3 and Dhoom 3. AB said that it was getting too easy for him to be a part of a project where there is a huge starcast and burden of making it a 100cr film is not on your shoulders. During that time he found his interest in businesses related to sports (he owns kabaddi and football teams) where he was going out cheering his team and promoting games while keeping his businessman demeanour.

TBH I like the maturity he is showing now to address all the questions that he has been bombarded with all of his lifetime and his comparison with his father. He is now trying to make his own space based on his own talent and not because his father is a legendary actor.

I think when he started his career he was coming across more as a star kid rather an actor. His film choices were different, he worked only with his friends and he never went out of his way to act brilliantly in a film so that people could notice his acting talent. He was showing his witty and comic side in Bol Bacchan, his serious mood and style in Dhoom series and other choices were just supporting characters. Nothing was coming out as a good craft from his choices. It seemed like he was supporting a big star cast with his 10–15% screen time where he was trying to be funny or stylish.

But this is now AB 2.0 which is grabbing so much attention because of his choice to work with Anurag Kashyap, who is known for good story telling and method actors. I would say this is a very bold choice since he has always been surrounded by friends from film industry when it comes to work.

I am now looking forward to watch Manmarziya and see AB’s work as an actor.
