JAVEBRATT’s Journey is just beginning :)

I’m Jorge, in March/2016 I decided to dedicate all the energy I could into focusing my blog in one specific topic.

Building mobile apps with Ionic Framework and Firebase.

From that moment JAVEBRATT dropped a lot of things to focus just in this, teach people with some Ionic 2 skills who to use those to build Firebase powered mobile apps.

It’s been a wild ride for the past ~6 months and I’ve been learning a lot, about Ionic, Firebase and JavaScript, but also, I noticed that I’m learning a lot about marketing, growing an audience, generating revenue online, networking and juggling being an active developer working from home with a 5yo kid running around the house a big part of the day.

So I decided to create a section on my blog to talk about that, the not so technical things of being a software developer and/or running an online business.

This is going to be my process, raw and unedited. No hype (well, I little bit of hype :P ) just me sharing with you how my process is going, what I’m learning and what I’m having to sacrifice to reach my main goal.

Always be there for my family.

Today, I’m just going to leave you with that intro and I’m going to add some context on how it’s going so far.

Last month JAVEBRATT reached the 5K monthly visitors mark, and is easily going to break the 10K mark this month, mostly due to optimizing my SEO, so yeah, about 7K people of those 10K are going to come organically.

It took me 5 out of those 7 months to get my email list to 200 people, and I’ve gotten over 500 new subscribers in the last 2 months. A big part of that was switching my email marketing provider, I now use Convertkit, there’s a really cool webinar explaining how and why to use it here.

I launched a couple of tiny products (code templates) that made a little over $500 on August and September.

I launched my first book in BETA which meant I launched it with only 2 chapters and then was updating as I wrote them, it made a little over $300 in September and it made over $1k in its official launch week (October 3rd — October 7th)

Right now the book is pitched at the end of a free email course I have and since the email course offers a great amount of value for free, over 60% of the people who finish it end up buying the book.

You can see my goal track in more detail here. It was updated in October 1st, so it has September numbers on it, next update will be on November 1st.

If you have any questions (or hell, if you’ve got tips to help me reach my goals) leave a comment below, let me know what you’re doing to reach your goals too!

Also, I created a little 5 day sequence outlining the steps that I followed to get from no blog to where I am today at a point that I can almost do only this for a living, you can check it out here: https://javebratt.com/blogger/
