Alvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca: First Northamerica’s etnographer:

Cabeza de Vaca participated in the first European expedition of North America. In 1528 he landed at Jungle Prada Site (Saint Petersburg, Florida). There began an adventure that lasted nine years and ended in Sinaloa (Mexico), after travelling more than 2,000 km. Alvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca was the first European to describe the people who live in North America. For this reason he is considered the first North America’s ethnographer. Read more… Available on:
