Concerts at the Nabu Museum translate Jawad Adra’s efforts to spread hope

Between Ziyad Al-Rahbani and Four Seasons, concerts at the Nabu Museum translate Jawad Adra’s efforts to spread hope

Ever since its grand opening in 2018, Nabu Museum has been curating works of art from contemporary artists and historical antiquities for the public to view. Each season is marked by a singular concert that varies in its offering to culture lovers.

This cultural edifice which was designed by the Iraqi sculptor Diaa Al-Azzawiand the Iraqi-Canadian artist Mahmoud Al-Obaidi, hosted a number of concerts throughout its five year tenure, most notably a concert by Ziad Al-Rahbani, which was held in the outer courtyard of the museum.

Al-Rahbani followed up this event with an even larger concert titled “Tabma Eno” that hosted 2000 of his fans from across Lebanon. The concert featured songs from Ziad’s archives and the archives of other Rahabni artists. The concert also debuted musical pieces such as “Bema Eno,” “Ana Habaytak,” “Elhelwa di,” “Ana Weyak,” “Rah Nebaa Sawa” and “Esmaa ya Reda,”

The “Bema Eno” concert featured artists such as Syrian Manal Semaan, Egyptian Hazem Shaheen, Lebanese Hala Al-Masry and Laura Al-Yegrini. Rima Qudsia also appeared to convey, in Ziad Al-Rahbani’s sarcastic tone, comically critical jokes written by the composer and play writer.

Jawad Adra, one of the co-founders of Nabu Museum, insist that the museum must be a comprehensive cultural hub where people gather in the name of music and art. With the “Bema Eno” concert marking the beginning of Nabu Museum’s musical contributions to the public, Nabu Museum aims to be the first to restore hope to a people disheartened.

“Psychologists” Conference in the Vicinity of “Nabu”

A while ago, Nabu Museum hosted the third annual conference of the “Lebanese Center for Psychological and Social Sciences — Psychologists,” The emphasis was on innovative interactive sessions exploring the intersection of art and psychology. These sessions, facilitated by artists and therapists, aimed to unravel the intricate and multifaceted relationship between these two domains.

This interdisciplinary experience was based on various artistic performances. According to what was confirmed by the center’s founder, Heba Khalifa, in an interview with “Nidaa Al-Watan,” the conference was accompanied by an art program where a tribute to Fairouz was presented, with select videos and documentaries. Attendees at the conference were also treated to a tour of Nabu Museum.
