Things were always heading in this direction. The culture of number of years of experience and “blackmailing” and “chamchagiri” logic, used for promotions and salary hike was not going to work. According to this logic everyone will be a Project Manager or a Technical Architect!!
Equal weightage should be given to real developers on par with Managers and Architects. Developers needs to be incentivize and be given equal, if not more, importance than Managers and Technical Architects!!
I am sure everyone should be aware (or rather self-aware) now, that those days have gone by and it is about time to realize your capabilities and accordingly set goals!!
