This teachers day no designer cards and expensive gifts to the teacher, please.

The hubbub was going inside the classroom, about what everyone had brought for their favourite teacher, obviously, it was teachers day and the students of class V were very excited about greeting their teacher and presenting their gift.
Few students had bought expensive gifts, a few designer cards, a few handmade cards, some postcards, some craft items, some mugs and small frames and showpieces. Each one’s gift was unique and beautiful.
As the teacher enters the room, all the students stood up and wish her happy teacher’s day. The teacher thanked the students and asked to open the notebook. “Mam today is teachers day, please don’t teach today, and we have to give gifts to you.”
She smiled,”Cultural program is scheduled after the lunch break, you can enjoy them, and as I conclude the class you can give your teacher ‘s day speech and gifts, now open your notebooks”. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — -.
“Ok, so who among you all have prepared teacher’s day speech come forward”, few students gave their speech and then everyone presented their cards and gifts to the teacher. As the teacher was about to leave, she saw a little girl hiding something inside her notebook,
“ what you are hiding, show me”,
“Madam, its a card, I made for you, but I think it’s not good enough, I used wax colours”
“Oh!, it’s beautiful, I love handmade cards and you know I make a wall hanging out of these cards and hang in my room”, the girl beamed with a smile.
Well students feel good about gifting something to their favourite teacher, as they get chance to show their fondness or love for the teacher, but the materialistic gifting creates differences and materialism among kids, instead, the kids should be taught about gifting something simple and meaningful.
I myself, have worked as a teacher,and from my experience I know that even teachers feel awkward when receiving gifts from students, if you really want to give something to a teacher as a token of love, here I am listing few things that you can give to your teacher or kid’s teacher which will be more meaningful and will also teach your kid importance of simplicity:
- Handmade cards
- Postcard, with some lines for the teacher written by the student
- Any handcrafted item by the kid
- A note of appreciation by the student or by the parent of small kids;
Hope, you enjoy reading my post, if you liked my idea ,don’t forget to share with your friends, parents and teachers
Happy teachers day🙂
