Art: Floral Croquis by Tarika Srivastava

I want to write
A poem without words
Filled only with
The longing in my heart
The ache in my soul
The darkening shadows
Inside me, which
Deepen over time
And carve sacred scars
Inside my heart
The heart that grows
And grows evermore
With every loss
With every wound that
We inflict upon
Our Mother Earth

I want to write
A poem without words
Filled only with
The light in the leaves
The colours in the sky
The magic of nature
All around, and within
That deepen over time
And paint sacred pictures
Inside my heart
The heart that grows
And grows evermore
With every bloom
With every birdsong
That I am gifted by
Our Mother Earth

I want to write
A poem without words
Filled only with
The air that I breathe
The whiff of the breeze
Every line and curve
That outline every flower
Lines and breath deepen
Singing sacred chords
That expand my heart
The heart that grows
And grows evermore
As much with grief
As with abounding love
That you and I feel
For our Mother Earth.
