Just like most others who have commented; I think your 4 roles describe the kind of programming I do perfectly. It occasionally irritates me when I see the “other” kind on CSI Cyber (for example ) — which really IS boring!

I , personally, don’t think Programming is boring -if I wrote COBOL (yes , some still do -apparently!), I might. But now, as an independent contractor, I mostly only do the jobs (in C#) that I enjoy, using technologies that I want to use or learn. I know my main client appreciates my attention to detail, diagnostic ability and my design-input. I take pride in writing good solid, efficient code! So thank you, Dan , you made my day too!
