Time for Manchester to Quit Its Dull and Damaging Addiction to Nostalgia

Could not disagree with this more. This is nothing to do with Manchester, this is a national or even a global thing. When the best rap album of the year is released by a group whose first album came out in 1989 or the biggest band at the worlds premiere music festival had their greatest album 20 years ago you can’t say ‘Manchester has an addiction to nostalgia. The truth is we live in an age of nostalgia and if you want to find the truly great scenes you have to look underground and Manchester is still the best place outside of London in this country for it. Best clubs, best bars, best live venues and still the best bands and artists. Makeness, MONEY, Aldus RH, Space Afrika….try telling them they’re addicted to nostalgia.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
