Richard, you are whining. Airlines deliver three major and important services: They take you long distances in a short amount of time in relative comfort and with ridiculously good safety records. Anything else is bonus points.

Try buying a $60 ticket on Greyhound to cross the country— hah, hah, hah will be the response.

Try taking a train across country — 5 lost days and a minimum $1500, bad food and if you are lucky no smelly people.

Shawn has the basics right. Air travel is amazing and nothing compares. Get some perspective.
