Once upon a time there was a 14 year old boy lying around his parents house enjoying the summer vacation. While watching Star Movies, he saw a movie that will change his life forever. It is about two guys looking for a lost car. You guessed it, the boy is me and the movie is Dude Where’s My Car?

Plot

I always start my reviews with a plot. But for this movie, writing the plot feels like a joke. But here it is. Jesse and Chester (Ashton Kutcher and Sean William Scott) woke up without a memory of what happened yesterday. Their voice mails contains angry messeges from their girlfriends Wanda and Wilma the twins (Jennifer Garner and Marla Skoloff). They went out to check their girlfriend’s anniversary presents in the car; the gifts are missing and Jesse asked the question “Dude Where’s My Car?”

The movie has a girl who talks like a guy, a weird group who wants to go outer-space, aliens with a foreign accent guys, alien girls in black fitting costumes, and a giant alien girl. There are all kinds of out of this world characters; you have to see it to know what I’m talking about. They are all looking for the “Continuum Transfunctioner.” Jesse and Chester must find this device to save the universe (and end the movie).

Dude Why Am I Even Reviewing This?

“Dude Where’s My Car?” received some of the worst reviews I’ve ever seen. USA Today quoted “Any civilization that can produce a movie this stupid probably deserves to be hit by famine and pestilence.” The Austin Chronicle said “Dude, your movie sucks.” I ones saw half-a-star rating from a local magazine. Here is what I think; the movie came out stupid because they wanted it to be. At least they hit their goal. We can give that as a consolation prize.

With comedies, you need the right mood to enjoy it. With the right mood, you can enjoy a movie even if it is stupid and not funny. If you took it seriously, your missing the point (and you’re probably a big bore). The entire movie gives you an excuse to have fun and lighten up after all the everyday stress. Honestly, I don’t know anyone who hasn’t seen Dude Where’s My Car? We all know its stupid but we also want to know how the movie ends.

Jays Verdict

“Dude Where’s My Car?” maybe corny; however, its definitely entertaining and not boring. Just figure it out for yourself. If you have not watched this movie, you probably live in a cave. Go see it!
