The beaches of Florida are packed,
a prism of sun glare waves and oiled bodies
where the kids welcome death
like a lover mixing drinks
with his fingers.

Imagine the hangover headache,
dry mouth and blurry light,
because no party lasts
a thousand years,
and this one
is a horror movie

where every reckless youth
wakes up given a pistol
with one to three rounds,
and now they must choose
which members of their family
they are willing to lose
to the opposite
of the dry fire click.
