Nietzsche was, firstly, a supremely critical thinker. He could untangle fallacies with precision. He was gifted at observing social interactions (eg., “Man in Society”). He labored to describe mankind’s limitations. My gut feel is that Nietzsche would have significant contempt for Trump. On the one hand, yes, Nietzsche was quite aware of the fragile and shifting nature of the “truth” and how it could be used to suit the circumstances, and he did favor an aristocracy. But he would be able to see through Trump’s bag of tricks in a manner superior to the average person. Having read all of his books I simply cannot believe that he would hold anything but contempt for Trump, so I don’t like classifying “alternative facts” as Nietzchean.
