We all live in the times we are born. We can take those times and try to make them better as the women portrayed in this movie did or we can rant and rave and scream and try to burn it down as all too many seem to want to do now.

The pyramids of Egypt were built by slaves but how much poorer would our world be without them?

These women struggled through a time when women in the workplace were frowned upon and African Americans were generally held to be second class citizens. Would it make sense to dismantle NASA and halt the space program because the work to get men on the moon was performed in part by people that were oppressed? Doesn’t it make more sense to acknowledge thee sacrifices that these women made and rise up on what they have built and take it farther? Knowing that what they did made a better world for everyone?

We can’t change the past. Nothing we do can erase the bad that has been done. We shouldn’t minimize their contributions by trying to rewrite history.
