World of Warcraft and the engine it uses and why I like playing it

My favorite game is World of Warcraft and with the research that I have done, they make their own house made engine. however I have seen some of the zones in the game made in unreal engine 4. I have also seen that they use hamsters and that’s why we have weekly resets on Tuesday at least for US servers.

World of Warcraft is a MMORPG or a mass multiplayer online role playing games for people who don’t know what MMORPG means. The game has had 6 expansions since its release in 2004. I have played the game since its first expansion, The Burning Crusade and haven’t stopped playing it if you don’t count warlords of dreanor because we all know that expansion was pretty bad and not interesting.

as side from the WoD expansion, World of Warcraft is a fun game that has months of total played time worth of content like raids, dungeons, mythic plus, quests, and pvp. My personal favorite is raiding as it combines multiple skills like learning mechanics of bosses for each of your roles and team work. You have to know the mechanics of each boss to complete the raid because most raids will have a one shot mechanic if the mechanic is ignored.

Mythic plus and dungeons fall under the same however mythic plus is the scaling version of dungeons, the higher the rating on the key, the harder the dungeon gets and each week has a different set of affixes or affects that change the way you proceed through the dungeon. these affixes include things like: teeming(when there is more enemies than normal), necrotic(my most hated affixed that applies a DoT to the character hit that reduces healing), and tyrannical( where the boss has increased health and damage).

questing, my least favorite thing to do, is a method of leveling in the game, and combined with the right class and spec, you can make a character hit max level in just a day or two of total played time.

PvP used to be one of the fun things to do in WoW. during cataclysm, when I first hit max level in the game, PvP was not balanced. Gear was the only way that you would not get one shot. The better your gear, the more damage you can take and deal. I remember when I took on five highly geared players and I was able to hold my own for nearly a minute but died and had to respawn. now PvP is balanced so you don’t have destruction warlocks one shotting players with one ability. Yes its good for the game, but you had a sense of achievement when you were geared with the elite gear offered by the PvP vendors.
