Although the majority of the world is familiar with the popular hacking group known as “Anonymous”, it is safe to say that most do not know much about them besides that they wear the anonymous masks and that they are online vigilantes. As you the name implies, the group itself has been successful in remaining anonymous even though they have been operating since around 2003. With the combination of being able to retain through online anonymity besides their many famous “hacks” and data breaches and their use of masks to prevent their own physical identities being leaked out, little to no information is known about their information. With that idea of them being prevalent in obtaining data they should have access to while remaining unknown themselves, I thought this would be the perfect topic to cover for an Information Security class and standpoint.
