Timeseries metadata is collected constantly. Nothing you do online, or really anywhere, is private anymore. Luckily, the guys (and they are all guys, but we just hired another lady — yayyyy!) I work with are perfectly fine with people goofing off online, as long as you get your work done, no one cares. It’s why I still work there.
You would be grossed out at the stories I could tell you about working for a digital marketing company. Proxy sites using a call tracking number allow businesses to legit record phone calls. All they have to do is add a whisper feature. The only service with an exception is any business categorized as being HIPPA compliant. I’ve heard too much and I’ve seen too much.
Also you would not be able to find my MAC address. ;)
