Why Hillary Clinton Is This Election’s Real “Protest” Candidate

Your “protest” vote should really be going to Hillary Clinton. (Do not abstain this year.)
The spirit of the Deplorable base Donald Trump’s mobilized so viciously and so quickly must be shattered this November. They’re bubonic, ready evolve and erupt. Every American feels that fear—idea of conflict perhaps beyond the ideological, beyond the killings of black men by police in our streets, and beyond our controlled borders—in our hearts and minds. The RNC and Trump have collectively ascribed an impending apocalypse caused by “forces,” which will propel our country into dust if back-to-back Democratic presidential administration are elected for the first time since JFK and Lyndon B. Johnson. But there’s another fear as well: That a Trump presidency would jackhammer our 250 years of constitutional governing. It’s a fact that he’s down for that.
The first step towards healing our shared trauma is simple: We must put this maddening populist message of death and despair down in one day, and by sweeping majority. A watershed moment is the necessary reaction to the head we’ve come to. (Long-view, I like to call it The Great White Reckoning: The assimilation of five hundred years of white Christian western culture by the very minorities that culture has oppressed and built upon.)
Otherwise, enjoy the consequences of voting for one of these men, which will contribute to problematic, discordant fallout post-election if they’re not defeated heavy-handedly: The Republican candidate is a Nazi and the Libertarian candidate is just a lame Republican who smokes weed and hates the government (so probably a cool guy to chill with IRL). Great job, rightists.
(More personally, as someone under care for mental health disorders, I detest Johnson’s disregard for public health care options and the mentally ill. In 1998, as Governor of New Mexico, he vetoed HB 315, a critical mental health coverage bill for state employees. Fuck Gary Johnson.)

Hillary’s the only candidate this election to actually commit to a proper policy-driven election, or “a contest of ideas,” as President Barack Obama described. She’s running on the most progressive policy platform in modern history. Thanks to her opponents, however, this contest of ideas has gone uncontested, completely shunned under the grand circus tent holding this election. For the sake of our culture and country, and out of human decency, the smart, strong woman needs to defeat to two white male dingbats — especially Trump, the misogynist who proudly admitted to sexual assaulting a woman right after his third wedding. And in a LANDSLIDE, too. Anything less is unacceptable.
This election cycle has been a drawn-out, damaging 18 months for the American spirit, image and socio-political dynamic. We’ve lived in a moment-to-moment cycle of hatred, rage, partisanism, sexism, racism, nativism that’s disseminated through ratings-corrupt media and disinformation-spreading social media trolls. And it’s all been deemed acceptable and presidential, if still condemned by John Oliver-watching Reasonables in their own vast liberal void. It’s been embarrassing.
If you want to *really* protest, then protest the worst of America that’s woken up, intent on dragging “their” country into total patriarchal white supremacy again. Protest this hatred ideology, and help form a populus condemnation against the 40 percent of American who’s been suckered into restoring America’s whitewashed, oppressive, socio-politcally reticent nostalgia. There’s only one choice on the ballot who will protest exactly that force, and she’ll beat it back like fucking pneumonia.

Show the world that Americans are able, and in fact, not wholly deplorable human beings. Bring the protest to inside the booth and vote Hillary.
