On July 1st, 2015, a man was repairing a stationary robot inside of a cage. Suddenly, the mechanical hand grabbed the man and pressed his chest against a metal plate. He died later due to his injuries. This was covered by a TIME’s article around that time. This incident happened in a Volkswagen factory.

This brings up certain questions like: “can robots be guilty of killing humans, however unintentional the death was? And how do we hold them accountable if so?” at least according to the Daily Beast. The article talks about the Volkswagen incident in relation to a movie which came out recently. “Prosecutors are still deciding whether to bring charges and whom they would pursue” during the time when this incident happen in the TIME article mentioned previously. Are robots really out here killing people out of their own free will? Are AIs a threat to humans even economically speaking? …
