What an image: A chihuahua meditating!!!

This post adds to the usual need for planning. One of my favorite authors, the late Stephen Covey, talked (and demonstrated) “the importance of the ‘big rocks’.” That is, always plan your schedule by adding the important items (big rocks) first, move down the importance scale until the schedule is planned.

David adds the importance of the placement of those ‘big rocks’ in that schedule!!! He correctly notes that one’s personal optimal characteristics should influence those placements. And of course, other realities such as resource availability and sequencing constraints are important to placement as well.

The leadership (including leadership) in this effort is most important when two of the big rocks are accompanied by conflicting placement issues. The sizing of the rocks most likely will need to be refined.
