Over the past week, I completed Terence Tao’s Masterclass and here are 10 amazing things I learned about this math prodigy:

  1. ✅At Age 2, he taught himself how to read and do basic arithmetic.
  2. ✅At age 8, he scored 760 out of 800 on the math portion of the SAT.
  3. ✅At age 10, he became the youngest person in history to win in the International Mathematical Olympiad
  4. ✅At age 15, he was commissioned to write a training book for secondary school math teachers.
  5. ✅At age 20, he earned a Ph.D. from Princeton University
  6. ✅At age 24, he became one of the youngest tenured UCLA professors.
  7. ✅At age 28, he co-authored the Green-Tao Theorem
  8. ✅At age 31, he received the Fields Medal (the Nobel Prize of Mathematics).
  9. ✅At age 31, he was made a MacArthur Fellow
  10. ✅At age 46, he was enlisted by President Joe Biden to serve on the President’s Council on Science and Technology (PCAST).
