VML Season 1 Breakdowns: NFC West
Our fifth stop on the Primer tours covers the NFC West as we mercifully await the 53 man roster update… Without further ado let us begin.
No Creeks Finest (Seattle Seahawks)- NCF is a well respected coach on field and also off the field with how he builds his roster. He leads the Seahawks who have bled some talent over the past couple years by letting players walk (Richard Sherman) and also by retirement (Kam Chancellor). However the core of the team remains which has plenty of talent. On defense elite players such as MLB Bobby Wagner and S Earl Thomas remain and on offense QB Russell Wilson continues to rank as one of the leagues best. The team also spent its 1st round pick on a very talented RB in Rashaad Penny. Biggest Question Mark???: Will the Seattle OL which has been depleted be able to protect Russell Wilson and allow him to do what the teams needs him to do in order to win ball games?
Tru Talent (Arizona Cardinals)- Tru’s name says it all- guy has some “tru talent”. I’ve seen Tru bump in and out of GDK/ISL at the end of the cycle over the past couple years and every time I see him playing he’s always winning. He’s not a chatbox type dude but he’s regularly handling his business on the field. He’s a guy I think most don’t know about but expect him to do some big things and be a perennial playoff team, which says a lot. He takes over a team with a very solid young QB in Josh Rosen to build around. RB David Johnson is one of the best players in the game and WR Larry Fitzgerald allow for a very strong and balanced offense. On defense he’ll lean on all world CB Patrick Peterson who is still balling at an elite level. Biggest question mark???: Does the AZ defense have enough talent on the field to slow down some of these high powered offenses that he’ll surely face in the post season?
Rambo AKA Jon Rambo (San Francisco 49'ers)- A veteran coach forged in the crucible of not giving a damn about anything other than but beating his rivals and seeing them in pain and anguish at all times (Beasy). Rambo takes over his beloved 49'ers as he holds his man crush monday Jimmy G close. This defense has some elite young talent in LB Reuben Foster and DL Deforest Buckner. Jimmy G got his speed cheese machine in the offseason with RB Jarick McKinnon and WR Marquise Godwin returns to form one of the more “cheddary” offenses in the league. Biggest question mark???: Can Rambo take that step this year to greatness???
Hawk (LA Rams)- Last but not least, Hawk. Where do I begin here? He chose the Rams and inherits an elite roster HOWEVER numerous media publications are predicting (at least for season 1) a finish somewhere between the basement (which has no water or carpet and one lamp with a bad bulb) and the cellar (which is a living hell hole)- neither of which is good. As we’ve discussed, the roster is there. The roster is young. The roster is loaded. The salary cap is large. Biggest question mark???: Will Hawk be able to get it right in LA or will he stay with his sleeping bag in that dirty ass basement or god awful cellar with the trolls and gouls? Bonus question mark???: Will he be able to manage that shitty cap???
That covers your NFC West. Make sure you’re scouting these free agents as the draft will be coming quickly. If you have questions and some have please feel free to hit me up at any time.
