Totally understand. My wife and I went through Finacial Peace a few years ago and it really helped us get a handle on how to handle our home finances.

But this is partly an ego thing (I think I’m worth someone paying me a million dollars) and a lack of accountability thing (I can afford to never see that investment pay off or that friend hiding because he owes me money because I got plenty, with plenty more coming with my next million dollar paycheck.)

It’s more of a scorecard that shouldn’t matter as much to me as it does, but it does. Money is a tally that I am using to keep score that at the moment, not for my living arrangements but for my career I am on the losing side. I don’t love money per se, but I am very fond of the stuff I can get in exchange for it. :)
