Hi Jon! Following all your posts. They’re easy to read and go straight to the point. Congrats.
I really believe in BPs. I started my business one and a half years ago writting one that I still read, criticize and change all the time.
Ok, my marketing and sales strategies changed a lot, as well as the financials. These were incredibly wrong! But I did expect that. That’s the only part of a start-up BP that is sometimes an unusefull and time consuming exercise. But I’m a finance guy and I had to use my former CFO knowledge somewhere…what the hell!
But what I’d really created is still there, the services and the way they serve and solve client’s problems, how they bundle, their uniqueness. From where they’d emerged. All in a simple language that everyone can understand. That’s the beauty of it!
A BP has to communicate your ideas and dreams to your partners, investors and employees. It has to be clear and needs to stress your culture and the way you’ll interact with customers, employees and partners.
That’s why they are so important to start a business. They’re the founding rock, the materialization of entrepreneurs’ will.
I still believe in BPs.
