Grave of A. E. Housman, Ludlow, England
Jun 18, 2024
I took this photo some years ago. The grave was behind a metal fence which was entwined with the same sort of flowers — I think they are wild roses — which are around the grave marker. The fence ran along the whole side of the church, not just in front of Housman’s grave, and I noticed that the flowers on most of the fence had little or no odor, but the ones on the fence in front of Housman’s grave were very aromatic. I can’t explain it, and I can’t prove it, but it’s true.
