Calling It What It Is: the Unspoken Validation of Online Abuse
K. C. Alexander

I don’t get why trolls exist anyway. Of course I made my stand originally by not using twitter in the first place. The more I see stuff like this, the more I realize I made the right choice. At least on other forums (such as the youtube comments mentioned here) I can at least hit back and know everyone has seen it. Even when a troll crosses my path, I can manage to hold my own. Then again, being a white male also means I’m not a common target. When one of my friends gets targeted though, I don’t hesitate to jump in and take up the fight, even when they don’t.
