Elliot found himself falling for rumors, at least entertaining ideas like the unseen killer theory. “The whole world pitched in their ideas, whether they were rational or not,” he told me. “There were so many people viewing her death in a superstitious way regarding the TB test, the movie Dark Water, the Cecil being haunted. Lots of people saw her death as a premeditated superstition. They saw her death and elevator video the same way; it was just incredibly strange and eerie — that is if you don’t have all the facts. I mean, it really did look like she was possessed.”
