I agree with the writer’s attitude, though I would go further and say that genetically engineered plants and animals should be strictly limited to laboratories. But I don’t think that even people who strongly oppose genetically engineered plants realize that companies like Monsanto, Dow Chemical, and DuPont WANT to contaminate our planet with this stuff. Their strategy, which became clear to me about 15 years ago, is that if they contaminate everything, we won’t be able to avoid GE crops and they will eventually become a nonissue. By their actions, it seems clear that this is what these companies want to do.
