Yes, but… Lyft is the last bastion against a company backed by $3.5 billion from the Saudi sovereign investment fund and run by a megalomaniacal CEO. Without legitimate competition from Lyft, Uber and Kalanick will be fully empowered to exploit drivers (until they are replaced by self-driving cars in the near future), privatize many aspects of public transport, and exert all sorts of other monopoly power over various aspects of transportation/delivery/logistics. Be thankful for and please support the only company that’s willing to go head-to-head with Uber.
