Education is the silver bullet. Schools should be like palaces.

Whether you agree or not with the politics of the show ‘The West Wing,’ there are some key themes that were touched upon that blew me away. When Aaron Sorkin put his pen to paper to talk about topics like education, we all won.

I was recently watching an episode where Sam Seaborn, Rob Lowe’s character, said the following lines:

Education is the silver bullet. Education is everything. We don’t need little changes, we need gigantic, monumental changes. Schools should be palaces. Competition for the best teachers should be fierce; they should be making six figure salaries. Schools should be incredibly expensive for government and absolutely free of charge to it citizens, just like national defense.

I couldn’t agree more and wanted to make a little image to help inspire you to keep your eye on the ball, think about the larger picture, and perhaps change the world. After all, it all starts with teachers. Enjoy the graphic!
