If I had to pick a set of TV shows that helped shape my childhood, Avatar: The Last Airbender would have to be one of the first shows mentioned. These past couple days I’ve been going down memory lane and rewatching the series. A few weeks ago the homie brought the series up after finding a reddit post about it and ever since I’ve been wanting to rewatch it.
There’s so much to love about this show. The comedy is on point, the animation only gets better as the show progresses and there are plenty of life lessons to be gained from it. As a kid, the appeal of the show was routed in the epic action scenes, intriguing storyline and funny jokes. Fast forward today and none of that has changed. Only now, having grown older, I recognize the show’s value in the life lessons it teaches, which makes me like it even more now.
Looking back, I believe that Aang’s character is the one that really drew me in. Aang’s an air nomad. I’m a Gemini and the zodiac element for one is air. Even though his situation is rather dire, the adventures that Aang and the crew have, traveling all over the world is something that I’m certainly drawn to.
More to come on this show in the future.
Peace,
J
