On-the-Fly

After missing a day of going to the library due to labor day, I went to my spot, aka the nest, aka the second office and did some more Illustrator work.

After doing the pen tool exercises, I opened up new artboard and continued the on-the-fly designing. I started with a pentagon this time and basically worked from the outside in. I think the past couple times I worked inside out now that I think about it. Once again, no other tools were needed besides the shape tool and that pathfinder modes. But besides that, I’m starting to get reacquainted with the tools as well as incorporating new ones I didn’t even use before. There’s a set of alignment tools that can align the forms in whatever position you need. It dawned on me quickly how much using them could’ve helped me in the past.

I also experimented with ghosting the design in the background, just to see what it would look like. I mentioned it before but that ghost effect, where it looks like it’s disappearing in the background is one of my favorites, for anything.

Since I’ve done one of these for the past couple days, I decided to do one daily for the week and see what else comes about.

TBC.
