And finally, with todays’ design, the impromptu week-long design challenge is complete. This time I went with purple since it’s the one color I really wanted to work with since I started doing these.
In terms of where my mind was at with this one, as with all of the previous designs, I went in without a plan. I just chose a shape, a hexagon this time, and freestyled from there. But after I made the outer two shapes, combining the two hexagons together, I started to partially think about this as logo making practice. I don’t know what for but once I started making the circles on the interior, I could see a logo start to form. I don’t know what for but it could be the start of one, at least the outline of it.
It’s because of that train of thought that I’m glad that I started to do this. Not only that, but that’s also why I consider it to be digital doodling, even though I’m not using any type of pencil/pen equivalent. Doodling is essentially just another form of sketching. It’s an active way to get the creative juices flowing. Sure enough, as it did today, a few of these have got me thinking about ideas for future projects as well as building on current ones.
Challenge complete.
