There’s a fundamental truth in the Lord’s Prayer. “Forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us.” You can’t expect forgiveness unless you’re willing to forgive. But forgiveness doesn’t mean that things return to the way they were before the tresspass was committed. There’s an old Greek adage: Once milk is spilled, it never comes clean. And then there’s my mother’s adage: Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me! The conclusion? Forgive and move on! Lotsa luck.
