Train TJBot to Shine LED in Node-RED
Today we’ll train TJBot to shine the LED the color red.
Before we begin, let’s talk a little bit more about the hardware that makes this happen. The LED light on top of TJBot can shine a variety of colors.
Before you can use the shine node, you need to enable the LED hardware in the TJBot configuration.
The Node-RED node labeled shine provides several modes. Today we’ll use the Shine mode which turns the LED a solid color and remains lit until another color is selected.
Select a color from the color dropdown menu. Not all the colors can be rendered by the LED, so staying with the primary colors can be a good best practice. Black and off are equivalent.
Here’s a video of how to control the TJBot LED with the shine node.
That’s it for today’s skill. You can find the source for this project in my GitHub repo. What can you train TJBot to do now that it can shine the LED?
Come back tomorrow and we’ll talk about pulsing the LED.
This post is part of a series of skills you can train TJBot to perform.
