Underground Abortions on the South Side of Chicago

It’s 1968 and abortion is illegal in the United States. Women are desperate — particularly low-income women of color on the South Side of Chicago, whose access to abortion is limited not just by the law, but by class and race disparities as well. Amber Sollenberger and Jean Cochrane dive into the archive to look at one organization that took a stand.
