I wouldn’t be nearly so optimistic. Before there can be movies, tv shows, animated series, there has to be books, graphic novels, comics and aesthetic/creative magazines. Even those are pretty much non existent in Jamaica. I remember reading a few decent Jamaican fiction books, but that’s been decades ago. I have never heard of a book taking Jamaican society by storm at any decent stage.
