The New York Times Is Shutting Down

The New York Times and a german editor have invested in Blendle in 2014. Blendle, a dutch startup, is offering a pay-per-article platform that started in the Netherlands in 2014 and just launched in germany… I guess the next pricing model for the New York Times is a micropayment model… http://www.niemanlab.org/2014/10/the-new-york-times-co-and-axel-springer-are-investing-e3-million-in-dutch-startup-blendle/

I totally agree with your $/h approach, and I think that the best pricing model should be to charge by the time you’re spending on a content : Here on Medium, you know how many minutes you’re going to spend reading an article even before opening it. Why the New York Times couldn’t be charging 5¢ for each minute of reading ?

Microbilling doesn’t work, you’re saying, maybe it’s just because it has not been done properly so far…
