Ketchup sandwiches and other things stupid poor people eat
Anastasia Basil

When I was a kid, churches had a canned goods Sunday once a year. in the Fall, around Thanksgiving, when kids were encouraged to bring in some cans of food that would be given to poor people somewhere. These days I am encouraged to, and generally do, bring food every week. There are baskets for food donations at all four entrances to my church. Twice a year, we have major food drives, when we are encouraged to bring in a bag of groceries or give enough money to buy a bag of groceries. This has been going on since Ronald Reagan got into the White House. Decent wage would make a huge difference, ditto affordable rents, better, cheaper, mass transit, and possibly decent schools.
