The Red Gown Bride

I am standing there in front of the mirror, nervous as hell. Staring down at my red body hugging gown thinking about how lovely it looks and how difficult it is going to be to breathe tonight. The pink carnations in my hair were a great idea. I shuffle the string of diamonds in my neck nervously not knowing what to do with myself. A hoarse voice in the background whispers.
“Simply stunning!”

And I shriek. “What is wrong with you, don’t you know it’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding” I was infuriated. “Hey listen!” He chuckled “I’m marrying you, I don’t think my luck gets worse than that babe!” And we both laughed. He held my hands and looked deep, never seen him this serious and put together before. Hair gelled back, perfectly trimmed stubble, Crisp shirt and tux but well obviously he was wearing chucks. None the less, he was my idea of perfect. He said to me I’m actually doing this, we are really actually going to get married right now, like for real. He always did this fumbling with words thing when he was nervous it was adorable.

“You still have time the ceremony has not begun yet, make sure you are very sure of this. Once we go into this there is not turning back” I assured him it was okay if he still needed time. He looked at me deep into my eyes and said. “There are many things in life that I’m usually always confused about, all the time. What burger to order, which lane to drive in, what movie to watch, My favourite flavour of popcorn, heck I was confused which shirt to wear on my tux till an hour ago. But with you as I stand here holding your hand and looking into your eyes, I know one thing for certain. There is nothing I am more sure of than wanting to spend the rest of eternity staring at your beautiful face.

A tear ran down my cheek that was by far the most touched I had been in my life, I knew then what I was doing. I stared at the ceiling hoping the tears would roll back into my eyes. “You’re making me ruin my make up.” I shouted. “Get out of here!” I pushed him our of my bed room. He laughed and half way through the door he looked back and said
“Cant wait to kiss the bride”
