These are all myths that are told to us in Facebook ads. It sounds so simple as people describe it -build a funnel, launch a course and watch the passive income pile up. There is nothing easy about making passive income -it’s not as simple as it sounds.
Instead, I’d like to challenge these 5 myths and offer a different perspective to launching your online product.
Fact #1: It is possible to make $10k selling your course online but not in one month. To make that kind of income, one needs to be be specializing on a niche or area that has a lot of potential. Also the seller has to do a lot of testing, market research or engagement with their potential market to ensure that the product is something people want to buy.
Fact #2: You can launch a course in 6 weeks! The reality is it’s impossible to launch a successful product in 6 weeks if you have to work full-time or other commitments. If you want to launch in 6 weeks, you’ll need a team to help you craft out the marketing strategy, pricing and more. There’s a lot more to launching a course than creating the material and recording the videos. If you’re new to the online world, there’s also a huge learning curve when creating a product such as how to record and edit videos, design slides and more.
If you want to launch a quality in 6 weeks, you can’t and shouldn’t do it alone. There’s no shame in hiring experts to alleviate the time and pressure from your schedule so you can meet your launch date.

If you want to be successful in the online world and continue to make passive income, you’ll need to refine your product so that it’s not dated or dead. You’ll want to offer a product that’s valuable, high quality and engaging for your customers. You’ll also want to differentiate yourself from the competition — think about what you do that’s similar but also different.
Fact # 4: You don’t build a product and expect people to discover it. You have to put together a strategy to get people to discover, talk about your product and engage with you as the seller and instructor. You need a solid course plan and marketing strategy to promote your product.

Yes, you can make passive income online but the mindset shouldn’t be to create a product so you can make money. Instead, you have to give value first and then 2nd and then 3rd before you can ASK for something in return.
If you want to launch an online course, then plan way ahead. Also instead of designing a big course, test the demand by creating and offering something smaller. The result is less burden on yourself to create something that has no market.
