A Quoi Ça Sert L’amour — 4 April 2017
Tonight is a night of pity party-throwing for myself. There should be no reason for feeling discontent. . . I’m in a comfortable home after a rehearsal and a day of work. I’m starting to see a slight change of course for my life. All in all, things are slowly getting a bit better, but it comes at a cost.
I have been feeling lonely for a long time. Perhaps it is all due to the experience in relationships and how lonely it is to be in my current position, but I felt a sudden connection to the great Édith Piaf and the song she sang with Théo Sarapo, A Quoi Ça Sert L’amour.
The entire premise of this song is so French: Life is nothing without love, through the good times and the bad, love is always a promise of both. There is additional depth that I would like to get into, but this is neither the platform, nor the audience. I’m going to go back to my old habits when I get feeling down. Until next time, I hope you all have someone that you love.
