I am left of center on most issues, but I must say that the authoritarianism from some on the left is out of control. The author’s argument appears to be that speakers like Milo, Ann Coulter, and even Ben Shapiro should not be allowed at Berkeley (or anywhere?) because that will naturally and inevitably lead to events like Charlottesville and more deaths.

This argument is problematic in many ways. First of all, none of those people are neo-nazis. Milo is a clown, a provocateur, and yes, a bigot. But how many other campuses had he spoken at by the time he got to Berkeley? How many videos does he have on YouTube? I don’t believe that his one talk at Berkeley was going to lead to the downfall of Western civilization.

And the mention of Ben Shapiro’s campus visit? Is this supposed to be a negative thing? No right of center speakers should be allowed at Berkeley? I’m sorry to say it, but I think Tucker Carlson is right here.
