This is the first of a 12 week ongoing story of my journey to accomplish two of my ultimate goals; have abs and dress up for Comic-Con. I WILL be Kratos!

This is what I will look like in 80 days… minus the lightning

Preface

Ever since I was in high-school and first discovered the wonders of flirtation I have admired a fit body. For me fitness is a therapy; I go to the gym often and for hours at a time to unwind my mind and to let my restless body expel pent-up energy.

I’m writing this 12 week series to track my progress and force myself to sculpt my body into the picture you see above you. There is no morale to this story; nor is there a predefined ending. If you want to follow along, I encourage you to do so. If you would like to stop reading now, here’s some content that may be more interesting.

WEEK 1 — LET’S GET STARTED!

Week 1 started on Sunday, 07/16/2017 when I decided on Kratos as my costume for Comic-Con. I wanted a costume that would be extremely difficult; show off abs (once I get them), and had meaning. Well, God Of War is one of my favorite video games and my little Niece’s name is Calliope… so, Kratos wins :)

My current stats…

Weight: 205 lbs
Height: 5'11
Neck: 16 & 1/2
Sleeve: 32/33
Waist: 34 (p.s. size 33 if my legs and ass were not so big)

The Plan

Week 1, 2, 3: Bulk, Measure, Track, Plan future workouts.
Week 4–8: Cut Medium — Continue lifting. May join MMA Join (we’ll see)
Week 8–11: Cut Hard — Lift & Hard Cardio. Need to do more research here.

I’ve already been hitting the gym heavily for 3 months, but with no particular goal or tracking. So the purpose of this first week is to eat well, establish a baseline for fitness improvements, and do research to plan my next 2 months.

Dietary

I’m going to be honest; I love food way too much. On a normal day I’ll work out so I can eat more, not less. The thought of dieting and cutting wants to make me stop writing this article and pretend I never dedicated to this, but alas, I did.

At the conclusion of this week; I ate everything except 1 box of eggs and the Tuna. I also cheated on two days… whoops :)

On the bright side; my meals are freaking phenomenal :)

The Embarrassing Part

I can’t truly be motivated to bulk and cut unless I have something to loose. So like so many others who have done a ‘before’ and ‘after’, I will post my before pictures BEFORE the after. This way if I don’t accomplish my goal, all the internets have of me are the less than ideal chunky monkey Jedi. Reader beware…

This is on Sunday, July 17th, 2017. There’s a lot of room for improvement…

The Week’s Workout

Monday’s Workout (left — right)
Tuesday’s Workout

Wednesday… Rest :)

Friday I lost all steam and didn’t make it to lifting… but I did manage an hour workout on the Elliptical.

Friday — Then go home.

And finally, Saturday… . Saturday (today) I did a double workout. I worked out back and legs in the morning, then a full day of cleaning and house work, followed by biceps and shoulders.

Saturday Double — Leg & Back Morning, Bicep + Shoulder Evening

Sunday… The Day of Rest (kinda)

Tomorrow I will do my typical Sunday morning jog followed by a relaxing 60 minute deep tissue massage and Tea Do before I walk home. I’ll be honest I don’t really consider this a workout so much as a relaxation day.

The rest of the day will be spent at Monarch Pool :)

Well — that’s about it for Week 1.

I’m sure next week I’ll have a more efficient way of typing up all of my status updates that isn’t so “picture heavy”. I still do have to run a company, so time is limited but I will try my best, as always :)
