The meaning of mankind on Earth

I remember how I was struck by the phrase from the film “Melancholy” by Lars von Trier: “Life on Earth is evil.” In general, I have long told everyone that this is the “main film of humanity.” And now, recently, I denied for myself this statement about evil …

One day, I and my ex-wife discussed the topic of vegetarianism and “veganism”. And in the background, our son Vitia watched a known soviet cartoon. There the hipster dog argues with a conservative cat: “And animals, by the way, are created to be hunted!». My idea is that a person is created for something more important than hunting animals or watching the channel “Hunting and Fishing” on the cable. This goal but rather duty, in my opinion, that makes the meaningless confrontation of vegetarians and “meat eaters” meaningless. And not only this.

A person eats, grows, studies the world, eats, asks questions, seeks, eats, works … Man is the peak of evolution, it is he who sits at the top of the food chain. All the others are below, but they are just as important to a person as a person to them.

If we imagine that thousands of years later representatives of another civilization will come to Earth. Obviously, there will be a clash, humanity will be challenged, but is he alone on planet Earth ?!

In the novel by Herbert Wells “The War of the Worlds”, aliens die from earthly diseases, to which the immunity of people has long been developed. It is logical that our enemies will not only be “green men”, but all of their Nature. Their food and evolutionary chains are against ours. Our Life can be destroyed completely, as useless and incompatible with the life of “newcomers”.

People, being at the top of the food chain (even at the present moment), keep a memory in themselves and consist of everything that our ancestors and we ourselves ate. Much that lived on Earth, in one way or another, in us, in people. And nourishing our body and our mind, Nature assigns to one of two great tasks for the person: To protect all living things on Earth from external threats or To give life to those who will do it. With internal threats, by the way, Nature will cope without a man, just start from the beginning. Even if a person plunges the planet into the terrible chaos of a nuclear or biological war or simply clogs it and kills himself, for Life — this is not the end.

So I think that every plant, fish or animal from the forest — they all participate in development, in the movement of civilization forward, because this path is necessary for the preservation of life on Earth. Of course, you can hunt mammoths all your life and live near caves, in “harmony with Nature”, but it’s like raising a child in isolation from the outside world, feeding him with healthy food, but not giving the opportunity to learn and learn from mistakes and change this world. The earth must also be competitive!
