I totally hear you on this common misperception that UX quality can somehow be worse in enterprise contexts than in consumer ones; I wasn’t trying to make the point that these users’ standards are different. At 3DR we’ve had to keep an eye on this — actually, we think we are well suited to making winning enterprise products precisely because the team has been trained to have consumer grade standards on UX polish.

When I said enterprise users aren’t like consumers, I didn’t mean that they have lower standards for the quality of the user experience. I just mean users have different jobs they need done depending on the context they are in, and that understanding what those jobs are is best done via customer development methods and commitment to the user.
