Thank you, David. The question is whether Trump’s concern is real or spurious? Is his everything-is-rigged-against-me view of the world real or spurious? Does he actually have a paranoid personality, or is feeding headlines reflecting outright lies and marginal truths merely as a way to hold on to what he feels is rightfully his: power? He was, after all, a student or Roy Cohn.

The long-term solution rests, not so much with Trump, as with his supporters and ultimately with how people acquire and digest information. Are people thoughtfully analyzing facts, or merely relying on headlines and what they are told by his state-influenced media? I think we know the answer. Ultimately the solution rests with another bastion of democracy: public education. Having been a teacher and a publisher of educational materials, we have to raise the bar on how we develop critical thinkers.
